A man starts repaying a loan as first instalment of Rs. 100. If he increases the instalment by Rs.5 every month, what amount will he pay in the 30th instalment.


Thus he pays Rs.100, Rs.105, Rs.100……

Now a = 100, d = 5

To find, T30

We know that

Tn = a + (n - 1)d

T30 = 100 + (30 - 1) × 5

     = 100 + 145

     = 245
