believed that in order to be worthy of freedom, Indians had to get rid of social evils such as child marriage and untouchability. Indians of one faith had also to cultivate a genuine tolerance for Indians of another religion - hence his emphasis on Hindu-Muslim harmony.’’

Mahatma Gandhi was a firm believer of the Vedants philosophy which advocates the spiritual unity of all mankind. Gandhi Talks about equality of all religion, creating tolerance for one another and living life in harmony and prosperity. He sought to foster abiding social bonds through his ideologies of non violence, tolerance, Swaraj, education, hygiene and harmony, and so on. He define political values as political relationship , organizations, views and ideas resulting in the transforming, creative sociopolitical practice for the social force that meet social progress and human development. He believed in freedom from all sorts of social and political evil such as child marriage, untouchability and racism. He extensively worked for their upliftment, the transformation of untouchables into Harijans. Mahatma Gandhi wanted to change economical and social position in the society. He started Khilafat Movement which was a big step towards communal integrity. He wished to see tolerance and equity in religion here everyone lives in peace and respect one another.
