Q8 of 94 Page 12

After spending Rupees sixty thousand for remodeling a house, Amla sold a house at a profit of 20%. If the selling price was Rupees forty-two lakhs, how much did she spend to buy the house?

Selling price (S.P) = 42,00,000

Spent on remodeling = 60,000

Profit % = 20%

Profit % =

20 =

2×C.P = 10(42,00,000 – C.P)

12 C.P = 4,20,00,000

C.P = 35,00,000

Cost Price = Cost price of house + other expenses

35,00,000 = C.P of house + 60,000

C.P of house = 34,40,000
