What are hydrocarbons? Explain with examples.

Hydrocarbons: All compounds which contain just carbon and hydrogen are called hydrocarbons. For example: Methane (CH4), Ethane (C2H6), Propane (C3H8), Ethene(C2H4) and ethyne (C2H2) are examples of hydrocarbons because these are made up of only carbon and hydrogen.
