Describe any five features of "Go east movement" in your own words.

Around the 20th century, "Go east movement” became very popular. It was the Vietnamese students who went to Japan to pursue education to acquire a modern point of views. The five features of the “Go east movement” were:

• The main feature of this movement was to throw out the French rule from Vietnam.

• They wanted to overthrow the puppet emperor and re-establish Nguyen dynasty which was removed from their power by the French.

• They wanted foreign arms and help.

• They requested to Japanese by calling them fellow Asians.

• Japan became modernized and resisted the colonial rule.
