The Indian Constitution was framed by the Constituent Assembly in a span of almost three years. It came into effect on 26 January 1950. It is still acceptable to the people after almost seven decades due to the following reasons:

1. It was prepared by people of different religions, castes, educational background on a broad consensus.

3. It does not discriminate on the basis of caste, religion or sex.
