The Constituent Assembly took the challenging task of framing the constitution. The assembly adopted the constitution on 26^th November 1950, but it came into effect on 26^th January 1949.

1. The constitution was made on the broad consensus. The features of the constitution were accepted by everyone.

2. The assembly represented the people of India, though it was not chosen directly by the people it was elected mainly by the members of the provincial legislature.

3. The Assembly conducted several rounds of discussions to discuss every clause of the Constitution.

4. The Assembly discussed for 114 days in 3 years. The words, the speech presented while framing the constitution were recorded and preserved.
