Explain an activity to show that friction depends on the nature of two surfaces in contact.

Suppose a person tries to drag a table full of things on the floor it is difficult to push the table due to the rough surface. If we oil the surface between table and floor, oil covers up the depression between the surfaces; then it gets easier to push the table.


Due to this purpose, greasing of cycle, doors etc. is done. The friction is decreased by greasing & then the motion is smooth.
