How are the socio-cultural and economic factors responsible for poverty in India?

Many factors are responsible for the poverty in India. People of India spend a lot of money in ceremonies of marriage and birth under socio-cultural pressure. They have to make arrangements of food at high costs because of social obligations. Lack of education, cultural and religious discrimination, overpopulation, unemployment, and corruption are other socio-cultural factors responsible for poverty. As the economy grows, so does opportunities for employment and income growth. Small farmers have to take loans to buy seeds, pesticides, fertilizers which are very costly and they have no savings from previous year production. Over the years, it leads to a debt trap. These are economic factors responsible for poverty.
