What would you observe when zinc is added to a solution of iron (II) sulphate? Write the chemical reaction that takes place.

When zinc is added to iron (II) sulphate solution, zinc displaces iron from iron (II) sulphate solution. This is because zinc is more reactive than the iron. The reaction can be shown as follows:

FeSO4 (aq) + Zn (s) ZnSO4 (aq) + Fe (s)
