Find the value of x, if

Given:


We know that two matrices A and B are said to be equal if each element of A is equal to the corresponding element of B.


Equating the corresponding elements, we get


3x + y = 1 … (1)


-y = 2 … (2)


2y – x = -5 … (3)


From (2), y = -2


Substitute (2) in (1),


3x + (-2) = 1


3x = 3


x = 1
