Describe the model of the South Asian colonial City.

Colonial city saw the decline of the old structural urban centres. Urbanisation led to the emergence of the new type of colonial cities.

In the South Asian Colonial city, there are European towns which had large bungalows, elegant or well-designed apartment houses, planned streets, both sides of the street had trees. Clubs were constructed for afternoon and evening get-together. The gathering place was reserved for western recreational facilities, such as race, golf courses, soccer and cricket. When the proper facility or technical arrangements were made for domestic water supply, electric connections, and sewage links, European town residents utilised them fully but the use of such facilities was restricted to the native town. This is the model of the South Asian colonial City.
