Non-alignment policy should not be equated with the policy of isolationism. Do you agree with the above statement? Support your stand with two suitable arguments.

Isolationism is much more distant from the world affairs and it totals the foreign policy of the US from the American War of Independence in 1787 till the beginning of the First World War. The arguments state that Isolationism should not be equated withNon-alignment Policy are


• Non- aligned countries play an active role in mediating between the two rival countries or alliances in negotiating peace and stability whereas Isolationism is not even related to world affairs.


• The strength of the Non- aligned policy was their unity and their resolve to remain non-aligned despite the attempt by the two superpowers to bring them into the alliance. Non- signed states were included in wars for various reasons.
