‘Older fossils are found closer to the surface of deep in the Earth strata?

Fossils are formed when dead organisms get buried inside the earth crust or in deep sea levels. During this long course of time, a great number of layers will be formed over them. So the organisms who died earlier will be buried deeper than the newer ones.
