Phatik’s uncle Bishamber had decided to take him to Kolkata was his better education and upbringing. Phatik’s mother readily accepted the offer. Even Phatik was very excited to reunite with his cousin and move to Kolkata. After a while, he realized that his aunt didn’t really appreciate his presence in the house. He longed for his mother as his health deteoriated but when his mother came to him it was already too late and he died.
