The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde

Narrate at least three incidents where Sir Simon was able to establish his supernatural power.

Mr. Otis was a wealthy American who purchased the Canterville Chase. It was an ancient English manor-house and he was warned that the house was haunted. His entire family comprising his wife, his eldest son Washington, his daughter Virginia and his two younger sons shift to their new house. The three incidents where Sir Simon was able to establish his supernatural power are as follows:

1. As soon as they arrived at the mansion, the family was confronted by a bloodstain in the sitting room. Mrs. Umney explained to them that the stain had been there since 1575. She further told them that Lady Eleanore de Canterville was murdered brutally by his husband Sir Simon de Canterville and it was the blood of the lady. The Otis family uses scrubs and stain removers to get rid of the spot and repeat the process over and over again but the stain reappeared every morning.

2. Mr. Otis was quite often disturbed in his sleep because of the noise made by the chains clanking. This makes them further trust the idea of the presence of a supernatural power.

3. Also, Sir Simon was able to pass through walls. The Otis twins had seen him do so one night which confirmed the idea of his presence.
