Adivasi refers to the ‘original inhabitant’. These are the communities who have lived in close association to the forests.

Stereotypes refer to certain characteristics that are associated with a certain group of people because of their race, nationality, language, etc.

The stereotypes associated with Adivasis are:

a) People believe that Adivasis are backward and primitive society.

b) They are portrayed with colourful costumes and headgear.

c) They are also blamed for their resistance towards a new change.
