How do you protect yourself from child abuse / sexual exploitation and trafficking.

We can protect ourselves from child abuse/ sexual exploitation by:

a) Being aware of what is wrong: Children should be educated about when an adult might cross the line of decency with them. She/he should know how to tell an inappropriate or nasty touch by someone in power and be able to remain mentally strong and report it.

b) Being aware of our Rights: We should know that the government provides ample measures to take offenders to task and we can approach trustworthy elders without the fear of being mocked

c) Being strong: Self defence mechanisms like karate etc. should be taught to students to act as safety guards in an untoward situation.

d) Knowing who to contact: Police and Child and Women Cell helplines should be known or kept at hand at all times.
