Explain why Kerala has recorded the highest value in the Human Development Index (H.D.I.).

The Human Development Index is used as a parameter for ranking countries based on key area performances like in health facilities, education and access to resources. There are different approaches for measuring human development which include the income approach, welfare approach, minimum needs approach and capabilities approach. The rankings to countries are given as scores between 0 and 1 which is based upon the country’s performance in key areas. The major reason for highest value of Human Development Index (HDI) in Kerela is that they have achieved 100% literacy and health facilities.
