(a) Function of acrosome-

• The acrosome is filled with enzymes like hyaluronidase and acrosin that help in the fertilization of the ovum.

(b) Function of nucleus-

• The nucleus stores genetic material.

• It contains a haploid (N) nucleus in which 23 chromosomes (22 autosome+ either X or Y).

(c) Function of middle piece-

• The middle piece contains may mitochondria, which produce energy for the movement of a tail which facilitates sperm motility essential for fertilization.
