Q19 of 47 Page 1

A metallic solid sphere of radius 10.5 cm is melted and recast into smaller solid cones, each of radius 3.5 cm and height 3 cm. How many cones will be made?

Let the number of cones formed be n

Radius of a metallic sphere = 10.5 cm

Now, Radius of cone = 3.5cm

and height = 3cm

According to question,

n × volume of cone = volume of the sphere

n = 12 × 10.5

n = 126

Hence, the number of cones formed = 126
