How is the cropping intensity calculated in India?

Cropping intensity represents the quantity of times of one crop is planted in a year in a provided agricultural area. It is the proportion of effective crop region harvested to the physical region. In India, it is computed in percentage by employed the following formula:

Cropping Intensity (CI) = Gross Cropper Area/Net Sown Area x 100
