Pressure groups and movements exert pressure on politics in the following ways:

a. They try to gain public support and sympathy for their goals and their activity by carrying out campaigns, filing petitions and organizing meetings.


b. Most of these groups also try to influence the media by giving more attention to their issues.


c. They organize protests such as strikes or disrupting government programs. This tactic is usually followed by workers organisation, employee association, and movement groups.


d. Business groups employ professional lobbyists or sponsor expensive advertisements.


e. Some people from the pressure groups participate in official bodies and committees that offer advice to the government.
