Give any two points of difference between globular and fibrous proteins.



(i)Reaction with HI



Here, HI acts as a reducing agent, and n-hexane is formed.


(ii)Reaction with HNO3


Saccharic acid, also known as glucaric acid is obtained when D-glucose is oxidised with nitric acid.


The –CHO and the primary alcoholic groups of glucose get converted to –COOH group.



Note- The secondary alcoholic groups of glucose remain intact and does not oxidised.
