A ladder, leaning against a wall, makes an angle of 60° with the horizontal. If the foot of the ladder is 2.5 m away from the wall, find the length of the ladder.

Let AB be a ladder, leaning against a wall BC


 


As the foot of the ladder is 2.5 m away from the wall,


 


AC = 2.5m


 


Also, BAC = 60°


 


Let BAC = θ = 60°


 



 


And as we know



 



 



 


AB = 5m


 


Height of ladder is 5m.
