In Fig. 6, find the area of the shaded region, enclosed between two concentric circles of radii 7 cm and 14 cm where ∠AOC = 40° (Use π = 22/7)

Radius of big circle, r1 = 14cm


Radius of small circle, r2 = 7cm


Reflex ∠AOC = reflex ∠BOD = 360 - 40 = 320°


Required Area = area of major sector OAC - area of major sector OBC






= 410.67 cm2
