Q13 of 84 Page 53

If p(x) = 2+5x then p(2) + p(-2)-p(1)

Put x = 2 in the polynomial

p(2) = 2 + 5× 2

= 2 + 10

= 12

Put x = -2 in the polynomial

p(-2) = 2 + (5× -2)

= 2 – 10

= -8

Put x = 1 in the given polynomial

P(1) = 2 + 5× 1

= 2 + 5

= 7

p(2) + p(-2) – p(1) = 12 – 8 - 7

= -3
