Q6 of 67 Page 193

The curved surface area of a cone is 1884.4 m2 and its slant height is 12 m. On the basis of this information, calculate the radius of the cone.

Curved surface area of cone = 1884.4 m2

Slant height = l = 12 m

Let r be the radius of base of cone

Curved surface area of cone = πrl

⇒ 1884.4 = × r × 12

⇒ 1884.4 = × r × 12

⇒ r =

⇒ r =

⇒ r = 49.96 ~ 50 m

Therefore, radius of base of cone is 50 m
