Find the surface area and volume of a sphere whose radius is 1.4 cm.

Radius of sphere = r = 1.4 cm


Surface area of sphere = 4πr2


= 4 × × 1.4 × 1.4


= 5.6 × 22 × 0.2


= 24.64 cm2


Volume of sphere = πr3


= × × 1.4 × 1.4 × 1.4


= × 22 × 0.2 × 1.4 × 1.4


= × 8.624


= 11.49 ~ 11.5 cm3


Therefore, surface area of sphere is 24.64 cm2 and volume of sphere is 11.5 cm3
