Pollution is caused by the smoke released from the vehicles. Smoke is produced when fuel is burnt in the vehicles. They produce a significant amount of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide.

Vehicles powered by batteries and electricity have least emission of pollution as residues left is negligible.
