Explain the relation between green house effect and global warming.
Solar heat when reradiated back from the earth is absorbed by various gases present in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide plays an important part here. This helps in keeping the earth warm and makes it habitable. But, over the years the proportion of carbon dioxide has increased manifold due to urbanization, industrialization, and an increase in vehicular pollution. This is leading to an increase in earth temperature over the years and the phenomenon is known as global warming. Apart from carbon dioxides other gases such as nitrous oxide, methane, and fluoro fluoro carbon (CFC) also traps heat and are known as green house gases.
Global temperature is gradually increasing due to this trapping of heat by the greenhouse gases. This phenomenon is known as global warming.
