Describe the Indus river system from origin point to ocean meeting point in brief.

Indus River rises in Tibet, near Mansarowar Lake.

i. It flows in an east-west direction.


ii. Approaching towards west, it enters Jammu and Kashmir and forms a gorge.


iii. The tributaries of Indus River are Jhelum, Chenab, Satluj and Ravi.


iv. The Chenab merges with the Sutlej to form the Panjnad River which joins the Indus River at Mithankot in Pakistan.
