Q5 of 29 Page 3

Find the value of k for which pair of linear equations 3x + 2y = –5 and x – ky = 2 has a unique solution.

3x + 2y + 5 = 0

x – ky – 2 = 0

Here a1 = 3, a2 = 1

b1 = 2, b2 = –k

c1= 5, c2 = –2

Now,

For unique solution

The equations will have unique solution except at the value .
