Now multiply eq. (2) with 2 and subtract it from eq. (1)

⇒ 6u + 7v – 6u +4v = 126 – 60


⇒ 11v = 66


⇒ v = 6


Now put the value of v in eq. (2) to get,


⇒ 3u–2(6)=30


⇒ 3u–12=30


⇒ 3u=42


⇒ u=14
