The next term of the A.P. √18, √50 ,√98, ….. is ? (CBSE 2012)

The AP can be written as:


3√2 , 5√2 , 7√2, …..


First term, a = √2


d = 2√2


We know,


an= an-1 + d


So next term is:


√98 + 2√2 = 7√2 + 2√2


= 9√2


= √162
