How far is the demand for reservation beyond SCs, STs, and OBCs justified?

Reservation is a quota system where the percentage of seats are shared in governments (State & Central) and Educational Institutions". It is considered by many as an instrument to uplift the under-represented groups in proportion to their general population.

Scs, STs, and OBCs have been suppressed for a long time during the colonial period, this suppression hindered their upliftment. Hence to ensures the level playing field reservation system is justified.
