Highlight any four negative consequences of globalization for the people of India.

The process of Globalisation has brought the world together at a single platform where the differences have diminished in all aspects including social, cultural, economic, political etc. Globalization has transformed the way of living, it has reduced the distances and increased the interdependence among the people and nations at all levels.

Along with these many merits, globalisation has been criticized too for the negative impact it has left behind.

1. Globalization led to the influx of industries, factories and forests were cleared in huge amount for the set, which in turn ruined the environment and diminished the biodiversity.

2. The local economies were affected.

3. Anti Globalisation movements too participate in the global network. These movements are not against the concept of globalization but oppose specific programmes of globalization.

4. In India also some movements were carried in opposition to the Globalisation. Example: Trade Unions of the industrial workforce that represents farmers’ interest and have protested against the entry of Multi-National companies.
