Assess the relative importance of the past and the future.

Both the past and the future have relative importance if seen in the right way. The past is like a window, and brings us many gifts. These are the gifts of culture, civilisation, science and knowledge or wisdom of truth. Man learns so much from the past that it is no less than a gift from the bygones. Therefore, a man feels an obligation to acknowledge the past.

On the other hand, the future is something that man has a bigger duty towards. The past is something that is unchangeable and has already occurred, but the future is yet to take place. If we work in the present, we can shape our future for the better. The future, unlike the past which has revealed many truths, hides a lot of facts and seems a mystery which is inviting us all to explore it. This is the relative importance of the past and the future.
