The play starts with the panic-struck suspense till the truth about the scrap of paper is revealed at the end of the play with a humorous note. The humour of the play revolves around the fact that in first it keeps the readers in a suspense thriller when the message scribbled as “Remember Caesar” is written on a piece of paper and is show cased as a death threat for Lord Weston on which he displays so much panicking drama to prevent himself from the assassination and even put his secretary in to the false belief of that message. But in reality it is all due to a misunderstanding brought by the memory loss about that crumpled piece of paper. It is actually scribbled by Lord Weston himself to remind him of the man named Caesar who is a gardener and who met with him on some day and has agreed to meet him to look at his roses that morning. In between the drama, the wife of Lord Weston also brings out some moments of humor that seems to remain unaffected by the actions of her husband and she throughout keeps reminding him about his absent mind and over cautious nature which she is used to see and suffer all her life long.
