Is sweet potato analogous or homologous to potato tuber ? Give reasons to support your answer.

An analogous structure has similar function but different origin.

Sweet potato is the modification of root whereas potato tuber is the modification of the stem. They both store food. This makes them structurally different but functionally similar. Thus, they are analogous.
