In what way is monocyte a cellular barrier with reference to immunity ?

Monocytes are phagocytic in nature. They destroy foreign bodies entering in the human body, thereby providing innate immunity to foreign organisms and hence act as a cellular barrier in humans.


*Innate immunity: immunity present from birth and is inherited from parents.
