Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane or DDT is an insecticide whichwas banned due to its various harmful impacts on the environment.High concentrations of DDT disturb calcium metabolism in birds, which causes thinning of eggshell and their premature breaking, eventually causing decline in bird populations.
