(a) Sporopollenin is present in exine of pollen grains in plants.

(b) Sporopollenin is present in exine of pollen grains in plants. It is one of the most resistant organic substances and can withstand high temperature, strong acids and alkali. No known enzyme has been able to degrade it.
Sporopollenin is a biopolymer containing mainly long chain fatty acids, phenylpropanoids, phenolics, carotenoids and xanthophyll.
