(a) Identify whether the trait is sex-linked or autosomal.


(b) Give an example of a disease in human beings which shows such a pattern of inheritance.


(a) In an autosomal disorder two copies of an abnormal gene should be present, to pass down from one generation to another. Here, only one copy is present hence the disorder is sex-linked.


(b) An example of a disease in human beings which shows such a pattern of inheritance is Haemophilia. Haemophilia is an inherited disorder in which bleeding from a clot does not stop due to lack of clotting factors.
