Thymus is a primary lymphoid organ. Inside the thymus T-lymphocytes mature, these lymphocytes are responsible for producing an immune response towards the foreign invaders like virus, bacteria, pathogen or any other allergen.


If the Thymus of a new born child was degenerating right from birth due to a genetic disorder the child would face the following impacts:


1. Child would face severe immunodeficiency.


2. The child would be more prone to infections.
