Find the distance of the point (-3, 4) from the x-axis.

Given,


Coordinates of the point,


Let the point be M (- 3, 4)


Now draw the figure as shown below,

With the help of the graph draw the point on the graph and join them,


We get;


M (-3, 4),


N (-3, 0) and


O (0, 4)


So, the distance is;




As we can see the distance of point M from x-axis, MN = MO = 4 units
