Two cubes, each of side 4 cm are joined end to end. Find the surface area of the resulting cuboid.

The figure obtained on joining of two cubes of side 4cm is cuboid of length 8cm, breadth 4cm and height 4cm.

So we know that the surface area of cuboid=2(lb + bh + lh)


Where l=8cm,b=4cm,h=4cm


Surface area= 2(8 × 4 + 4 × 4 + 8 × 4)


= 2(80)=160cm2
