Differentiate between biodegradable and non-biodegradable substances with the help of one example each. List two changes in habit that people must adopt to dispose non- biodegradable waste, for saving the environment.

Biodegradable wastes are those which can be degraded or break down with the help of biological processes whereas non- biodegradable wastes can’t be break down with the help of biological processes into organic substances.


The example of bio-degradable waste are: Paper, vegetable peels etc


The examples of non-biodegradable waste are: Plastic and Glass.


The two changes in habit that people must adopt to dispose non- biodegradable waste, for saving the environment are as follows:


1. Separation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and then disposing the biodegradable waste.


2. Using Alternative sources of energy, using public transport for travelling and adopting environmental friendly ways.
