Part I: The line passes through (0, 2) and

m = tan = -

Equation of the line in point-slope form is

y – 2 = (x – 0)

or y – 2 = -x

or x + y - 2 = 0 (Required equation)

Part II: The line passes through(0, -2) and m = -(for parallel lines)

Now equation of the line in point-slope form is

y + 2 = -(x – 0)

x + y + 2 = 0 (Required equation)
