What is the dilemma that the poet faces when he sees the snake?

The poet is at conflicting emotions and experiences dilemma when he comes across the snake. He is fascinated by the snake’s grace and dignity. He was compelled to kill the poisonous snake as a result of his educational and social beliefs and learnings. However, his instincts are in conflict and dissuade him from killing a creature that has not harmed him.
